The fourth house is the life
enviornment of home, and people who dwell there with you. It exhibits
the influences of early household, and a way of roots that go manner
back in time. It’s the base of the Deep Self, the one which emerged from
a long line of ancestors, whether they’re known consciously or not. This
house is how we integrate all we find out about the place we’ve come
from, to create a sense of the place House is.
It’s the home of earliest
nurturing, going back to the womb. Planets here influence how that care
was perceived, and whether or not there was a sense of shelter or not.
It’s the home of emotional retreat, and the private consolation given by
those we think about family. This house is commonly related to Mother,
but if your main caretaker was Dad, that mothering expertise in your
memory would have a male face.
Later in life, this house guides
the particular means we seek retreat. It’s about the sanctuary of home
as a place to coax out, and soothe the innermost part of the Self. Being
the house of Cancer, it’s how we create a shell to guard us from the
elements. In the true world, that means the buying and promoting of
dwelling, and things like renovation.
This house is about how we react
to, and reflect (Moon) what’s completely past our control. That’s our
household of origin, and the cultural heritage we emerge from. It guides
what we do with that heritage. Creativity in this house might encourage
story or visible artwork that comes from that sense of private roots.
Sometimes it requires a lifetime to resolve individuals given family
factors, with who we sense we actually are as an entity apart. That’s
why the fourth home is stuffed with items and challenges that lead to
the deepest type of questioning and inspiration development.
