Tarot
card - Hanged Man
A young man dangles by one foot, tied to a girder of leafy wood. His
arms are folded behind his again, forming a triangle, and relatively
than trying frightened or in ache, he seems fairly serene. Though he
hangs above the earth, he's still related to it as a result of one foot
is attached to the wood. The youth has advanced from his position as
Idiot, and as his promenade continues he is aware of he should make
sacrifices. This sacrifice is really a religious one, and once he has
accomplished his ordeal, he'll experience a metamorphosis, very like the
Norse god Odin did after spending 9 days hanging in the tree of
information.
The Hanged Man is a card of profound significance, although a lot of
its meanings are hidden. This card can be an indicator of knowledge as
but untapped or undiscovered, and even of prophetic power. The Hanged
Man reveals us a pause in our life, a second of suspension in time.
Material temptations are conquered on the way in which to spiritual
transformation.
When reversed, the Hanged Man shows us somebody who's resistent to
religious influences or refused to just accept that sacrifices should be
made as a way to develop and evolve. There's a sense of
self-amalgamation, and of being too wrapped up in materials matters.
