The Latin title that's given to each particular person plant based
mostly on a global classification system known as the International Code
of Botanical Nomenclature.
Botanical names include the genus of the plant followed by species.
The first letter of the genus is capitalized and the whole botanical
title is written in italics.
For example, echinacea is the genus, however there are nine
completely different species. Two of the most popular species of
echinacea in herbal medication are angustifolia and purpurea. The
botanical names are Echinacea angustifolia and Echinacea purpurea.
The aim of assigning botanical names to crops is so that every plant
has an individual name that is used worldwide to establish it. Botanical
names prevent people from confusing completely different species of
crops, but also indicate that totally different varieties are related.
