War
A situation of war in a dream indicates a clash of unconscious elements of the dreamer's personality or problems from the past which have not been overcome.

Water
Water is vitally necessary for any kind of life on this earth.  It is a symbol of psychic energy - referring to the 'water of life'.

Weapons
Weapons like machine guns or other firearms are signals of over dominant aggressive tendencies.  In psychoanalysis, these weapons are seen as sexual symbols..

Wedding
As a rule, dreams of weddings are references to a couple's life together, not without problems nowadays.  A  sacrificial ritual is often also experienced.  It is an indication that every tie or bond means sacrificing independence.  The nature of the dream sacrifice, however, rarely refers to reality but much more to the dreamer's own fears.

Witch
In a dream, the witch appears as a negative mother-symbol.  She embodies the bewitching, threatening and destructive aspects of womanhood.  It is she who bewitches man and precipitates him into sexual dependency.

Woman, unknown woman
Unknown females in women's dream's are symbols of the dreamer's alter ego or shadow, as Jung called it.  Their activities serve the purpose of making the consciousness aware of unconscious attributes or modes of behavior.  If unknown female figures appear in men's dreams, they symbolizes the female elements discernible in every male personality.  Jung's name for this psychic aspect of the male personality is the Anima.  To a certain extent, the figure of the Anima embodies the man's female spiritual characteristics - his moods, his feelings, his misgivings - as well as the nature of his relationship with women in reality.  The development of this side of his personality is decided naturally by his mother. The ideal image of women which a man carries in his psyche is illustrated by the figures of unknown women in his dreams. Their actions show the dreamer which expectations he is projecting onto his partner in real life.  Experience has shown that most conflicts arise when this image does not correspond with the real-life woman.
If the figure of an older woman appears, who bears the characteristics of one's own mother or grandmother, the relationship of the dreamer to these women should be taken into account when interpreting the dream.  If, however, the figure of the older woman is unfamiliar, then (according to Jung) we have the archetypal symbol of the Great Mother.

 

Wading (bathing)

Wading in clear water is a very good omen as it shows luck in all you are undertaking. Muddy water is a sign of bad luck, illness, or losses in love and money. To dream of playing in the water foretells a wonderful love affair. If the water is murky the affair will be violent.

Wadding (cloth type stuffing)

To dream of using wadding in the loading of an old fashioned rifle means you are arming yourself against the hostile actions and words of others. When used in the filling of artistic work then it shows your creativity will be well rewarded.

Wafers

If a young lady dreams of eating wafers she shows that she is too picky in her search for male companionship. If she is cooking them it denotes a long happy marriage to the man of her choice. To pack them in a shipping carton denotes her love of sharing and portends many happy days for her. For a man to dream of wafers is an omen of general good fortune.

Wager

If you should dream of winning a wager fortune smiles on you but if you dream that you lose one or you are unable to put the wager up then you will find yourself railing against misfortunes and losses. Making a wager denotes a dishonest turn of mind.

Wages

If you dream of paying out wages you could be in for much dissatisfaction. When you dream of receiving wages then this is an omen of good fortune for your business. Should you lose wages or receive less then you are entitled to could mean that people who do not have your best interests at heart has taken notice of your success to your undoing.

Wagon

If you dream of driving a wagon loaded with hay shows a thrifty nature and an unwillingness to speculate on unsure ventures. Driving a wagon down hill will denote a situation that will arise shortly in a manner that is disgusting to you. If you drive a loaded wagon up hill you will see a successful completion of your present work and an improvement in all your affairs. To see a wagon standing empty and alone shows loss and dissatisfaction for you.

Waif

If you dream of taking a waif in and caring for it you will see a great increase in your business affairs. But just to see a waif and do nothing humanitarian to help it will denote a sudden loss in business or love. To see many waifs huddled together show that your sorrows will increase tenfold.

Wail

Hearing a wailing sound while dreaming foretells fearful news and sorrow. A wail of a police siren denotes minor trouble with the law which involves you or someone close to you. The wails of fire engines and ambulances denote a disaster of major proportions.

Waist

The size of the waist in a dream determines the omen it portends to as recognized in the current mode of fashion. A large rotund waist gives the dreamer the information that life will be pleasing and comfortable with no lack or want. A small petite waist is telling the dreamer that he or she will experience success in business, but if the waist belongs to an unhealthy, emaciated individual then the reverse is true.

Waiter

To dream you are being served by a waiter then you will enjoy many pleasant entertainments involving friends or loved ones. If your waiter is angry or slovenly, you will experience disquiet at the intrusion of disreputable people into your life.

Wake

If you dream that you attend a wake and the deceased is a friend or loved one then you will hear sad news in the near future. If you see a friend attending a wake, then the friend is in grave danger and must be warned to be careful.

Walking

If you dream you are taking a walk through pleasant surroundings then you will enjoy success in love and business. If the path is strewn with briars and other brush, you will experience hardships but if you manage to get through them then you will overcome all your adversaries and make your fortune. To walk in the night hours brings with it much discontent.

Water

Universal symbol for emotions. How water behaves in a dream always is significant. Rising water indicates rising emotions. Turbulent, choppy waters, in which a dreamer fears being swamped or drowning, symbolizes being overwhelmed emotionally. Tidal waves may symbolize specific threats that ““loom in the distance.”” Being caught in a swift moving current suggests being ““swept up”” in one’’s emotions. Cloudy water suggests lack of emotional clarity, and fears of emotional contamination. Swimming or bathing peacefully in water symbolizes a comfortable immersion in one’’s emotions. The ability to breathe underwater indicates accessibility to unconscious feelings and awareness. Dreaming of clear water is a sign of great good luck and prosperity, a dream of muddy water foretells sadness or sorry for the dreamer through hearing of an illness or death of someone he/she knows well. Dirty water warns of unscrupulous people who would bring you to ruin. All water dreams, other then clear, has a bad omen connected to it and should be studied carefully and taken as a true waning.

Weddings

To dream of a wedding is a sign of a death and a funeral. There are various other meanings, but this one has always been the cardinal rule for weddings as they symbolize new beginnings, but only at the cost of the death of the former 'life'. This death could mean various types of endings, not necessarily that of the body.

Women

If you dream of women in a group talking you will soon hear some good news and if you dream of them going through a store shopping you will soon see an increase in your spending power. A dream of pregnant women is a sign that you will be blessed with abundant wealth. An old time interpretation of seeing women in a crowd was that you would soon be met with treachery and deceit, so take your choice, either you are modern, or not.

Woods

Beautiful green woods with lots of life and growth shows an increase in your station in life as well as your income. If the woods are dried up or dying then the opposite will prevail for you. Woods seen on an overcast day with a dark and dreary appearance augers danger for the dreamer.

Worm

To see yourself using a worm as fish bait foretells of success and material gain by the dreamer but if you just see a worm them you can expect losses and reversals unless you kill it, in which case the dreamer will attain wealth in his endeavors.

Wound

Seeing a wound on yourself or anyone else is a dream of pressing magnitude that warns you to be extra careful for the next few weeks. If the wound is from a car wreck, be careful when driving. Whatever the wound is caused from then that is what the dreamer should be most cautious over during waking hours.
