Not many people realise that our health can be tracked in the stars!
Each of the planets and the signs have particular areas of the body that they
influence through their rulership.
For example, Aries rules the head, brain and eyes, so people with the sign Aries
prominent in their charts are subject to head injury, headaches, general
problems with organs in the head and fevers (although the nose is ruled by
Scorpio). Aries is such a headstrong sign!
One of the great things about Medical Astrology (as this aspect of the study is
called) is that it can enable us to work around the timing of diseases, or
accidental injuries, or other health problems and to estimate the duration of
any illness. This is very useful, as well as being reassuring to sufferers.
Health issues are largely governed by the sixth house and its planetary ruler,
along with the ascendant and its planetary ruler in a nativity (personal birth
chart). The situation of the Sun and Moon are also significant, as are the
placement of Saturn (chronic conditions) and Mars (acute conditions). Naturally
the nativity must be viewed as a whole and these factors seen in context,
especially with regard to the Decumbiture chart, the horary tool for
astrological diagnosis.
Aries, the Ram, is
the first sign of the Fire triplicity and the first sign of the tropical zodiac.
Traditionally arising at the beginning of spring, Aries is the sign of new
beginnings.
The key phrase for Aries is "I am". It is a sign of raw, unbridled energy, with
little real direction combined with a potent desire for power.
Aries is ruled by the planet Mars and is the exaltation of the Sun. Combining
the fiery energy of the Sun and the indomitable power of Mars, Ariens have a
tremendous psychological drive to prove themselves and to be first at all costs.
They become accomplished only by learning to think before taking action. Their
impulsiveness and inability to listen to others tends to involve them in
difficulties. They are likely to be impatient and do not always finish what they
set out to do.
It is the karmic responsibility of the Aries type to come to terms and learn
that they are not the centre of the universe, but part of larger social orders.
Aries personalities without maturity are usually childish and demanding in their
behaviour. The vital life force of their celestial rhythm can either be used to
inspire others, or it can be turned inward towards selfishness. As a result,
they often fail to evolve as individuals and are destined for an early
reincarnation.
Ariens are capable of becoming highly competitive, seeking fame and recognition.
Because of these desires, they can become overly aggressive and prone to use
force, rather than diplomacy and reason in dealing with others. If they do not
use their energies creatively, they expect others to provide them with constant
stimulation and they thus can become idle and apathetic. The solar energy of
Aries needs physical expression otherwise Aries types may become depressed and
overweight.
Aries Rules the Head
The head, taken as a whole, is ruled by Aries. The signs have an internal,
external and structural relationship. Internally, Aries rules the brain and
nerve centres, carotid arteries; externally the cranium, jaw and facial bones.
Externally, the rulerships are more complicated and other parts of the head and
face are ruled by Taurus and Scorpio and all of the planets rule various other
parts.
For example, the Sun rules the right eye in the male, the left eye in the
female, while the Moon rules the left eye in the male and right eye in the
female.
Aries is subject to all kinds of head complaints -- sinusitis, headaches, tooth
and gum afflictions, baldness and are prone to accident or injuries to the head
and face. As a sign of this celestial association, many Aries individuals are
born with a birth mark on their head or face.
Taurus, the Bull,
is the first sign of the Earth triplicity and the second sign of the tropical
zodiac. Taurus represents the sign of purposeful determination and power. It is
the celestial rhythm of Taureans to conserve physical resources and own
physical, reflecting the nature of the Earth element.
The key phrase of Taurus is "I have". They have a strong desire for personal
security. Their quest for spiritual truths comes by material efforts. The
astrological symbol for Taurus is the bull, which reveals the stubborn nature of
the Taurean personality. Because these individuals are unable to rely on others,
they are usually very dependable themselves. A good Taurean will have a strong
sense of loyalty. The hub of their universe is security, both physical and
emotional.
If the Sun is fully expressed in the chart, Taureans are physically strong and
solidly built with a heavy chest and torso. Even those who are not fat may
appear physically dense and characteristically stout, even barrel-chested, with
thick legs.
Taurus Rules the Throat
Each sign has external, internal and structural relationships. Externally,
Taurus rules the throat, neck, ears and lower jaw. Internally, it rules the
thyroid gland, pharynx, larynx, jugular vein, tonsils, Eustachian tubes,
cervical ganglia and carotid arteries. Structurally, it rules the occiput,
cervical vertebrae, lower jaw and teeth, chin and palate. The pathological
tendencies of this sign are stroke, croup, tonsillitis, lymphatic stasis of the
neck and head and laryngitis. Vulnerable parts of the body are the neck, throat,
shoulders and upper torso. Stiff necks, sore throats and earaches are common
Taurean complaints.
Practical, reliable Taureans are great lovers of sensual pleasures, although
they tend to be rather stubborn, possessive and conservative. Firmly anchored in
the material world, they have a fine grasp of what is needed in order to lead
the good life. Taureans are capable in emergencies, where they have an
instinctive understanding of what to do, but under normal circumstances, no-one
can force them into anything without due time for thought and consideration.
Taurus rules the throat, giving a powerful, often beautiful voice. The influence
of Venus opens up a world of musical talent and appreciation, so Taureans are
good singers and musicians, or at least, love music and can be a force on the
business side of music.
Gemini, the Twins,
is the first sign of the Air triplicity and the third sign of the tropical
zodiac. The key phrase for Gemini is "I think". It is a sign of lively
communication, wit and breezy exchange of ideas, gossip and intellectual
matters.
In Gemini, the soul force develops intellect in order to comprehend the
universe. This karmic stage is concerned with information, communication, and
creative writing. Gemini needs to express ideas and share information with
others. The mature Gemini becomes a serious scholar, writer and researcher. The
immature Gemini is a gossipy talker, nervous and high strung.
It is the sign of the hands and fingers and these individuals receive pleasure
by using them, either in their work or even while they talk. Gemini's anchor
points are words. Their sense of safety is by talking and responding well to
emergencies. Their memories are excellent. They react intellectually to
everything they experience and yet are quite moody, hence their dual natured
personality.
Geminians must work to acquire calmness of mind as well as body. They might
begin well by learning to eat slowly and avoid using their hands in conversation
and argument. This discipline will enable them to maintain control even during
angry moments.
Geminians are described as the "perennial teenagers" as they always look younger
than they really are. Their alert eyes are always full of humour, with a thin
nose, upturned like a child's and a light gait with a long neck. As a rule, they
are adept with mechanical devices, working with jewellery, arts and crafts, or
doing repair work. Gemini talents also include design, artwork and graphics,
interior decoration, magic and illusion and music.
Gemini Rules the Breath
Each sign of the zodiac has external, internal and structural rulership.
Externally, Gemini rules the shoulders and upper arms. Internally, the breath,
nerve fibres, thymus gland and lungs, trachea and bronchi. Structurally, the
clavicle, scapula and humerus. This double sign portends the native suffering
from two diseases at the same time.
The pathological action of this sign is nervousness, negativity, passivity, or
even restlessness. Tuberculosis, asthma and anaemia are common to the nativity.
Vulnerable parts of the body are the arms, hands, fingers, lungs and nervous
system, especially the sense of hearing. Respiratory problems and various
nervous conditions are common Gemini complaints which are benefited with the
orange rays. Gemini is traditionally considered a barren sign.
Cancer, the Crab,
is the first sign of the Water triplicity and the fourth sign of the tropical
zodiac. The key phrase for Cancer is "I feel". It is a highly creative sign of
deep feeling, with a powerful even psychic sensitivity held in check beneath a
tough, shell-like exterior.
Cancerian people are very complex, at certain times appearing to have the
strength of a hero and at other times displaying the weakness of a child. This
vulnerability is due to a combined solar-lunar influence. Just as the Sun
reverses its direction in this sign, stopping in the northern sky and beginning
its trek southward, the crab often walks sideways upon the approach of danger.
Cancerians use an indirect approach in dealing with others. Rather than direct
confrontations, they are more apt to resort to emotional appeals. This is
because they react emotionally to everything they experience in life. Many
succeed in life because their genuine concern for the welfare of others inspires
loyalty as well as cooperation and trust.
Cancerians also make good business people, combining artistry, originality and
drive with an understanding of financial matters, marketing and the needs of the
public. They can trust their intuitions, but need to generate a faith in
themselves which will not be dampened by gloom or depression over what, in
retrospect, may appear to be relatively insignificant problems.
Cancer has the natural ability to be diplomatic and to speak out when necessary,
or to keep that mouth shut. Home and family ties will be significant in life and
developing a secure, comfortable home environment will be a boon to their state
of mind, irrespective of marital state.
Cancer Rules the Breasts
The crab is Cancer's astrological symbol, so, when threatened, people with
Cancer prominent in their chart tend to armour themselves by withdrawing into
solitude. When upset, they use food as consolation, which in turn, results in
obesity, food allergies and intestinal dysbiosis.
The Sun in Cancer reflects a weakened physical constitution. Externally, it
rules the breasts, epigastric region and the elbows. Internally, it rules the
stomach, digestive organs, upper lobe of the liver, thoracic duct, pancreas,
blood serum and womb. The entire act of digestion with peristalsis and
chymification is ruled by Cancer. Indigestion, stomach ulcer, flatulence,
jaundice and liver torpidity and mammary affections are common. Be on guard
against lymphatic stasis.
Structurally, Cancer rules the axillae, bladder, blood serum and albumen. People
with Cancer active in their charts are subject to coughs, indigestion, gas,
gallstones, general problems with stomach, liver and intestines, plus emotional
disorders such as depression, hypochondria and hysteria.
Leo, the Lion, is the second sign of the Fire triplicity and the
fifth sign of the tropical zodiac. Leo is a creative, sociable and dramatic
sign, which loves to be the centre of a circle of admirers.
The key phrase for Leo is "I will". This sign represents majesty, power and
dignity. When their egos are turned inward, Leos become self-centred and
tyrannical. Leos express pride in every movement. As long as they are in control
or in positions of responsibility, their self-confidence is high. Leos whose
desires for power and authority remain unfulfilled may develop traits of
laziness, indolence and inconstancy.
Leos are often courageous and bold and even stubborn when plans are not of their
own doing. They can also be arrogant and wilful, expecting the limelight and the
admiration of others. Their confident attitude may appear smug to others. Their
sunny disposition and smiling eyes reflects a sense of hauteur, if not snobbery.
The hair is abundant as in a lion's mane with the chin firm and purposeful. Leo
is usually not a tall sign, but very sturdy with an even gait.
The Sun, supreme ruler of the human ego, rules Leo. Its influence gives Leos
their true love of life, love through marriage and its pleasures. They are
strongly attracted to the opposite sex. It is easy for pleasure-loving Leos to
become addicted to rich restaurant food and in time they find themselves gaining
weight, especially around the girth.
Leo Rules the Heart
Leo represents the heart of the physical system, a fire sign that heats the body
and can lead to a loss of equilibrium between body and mind. Internally, Leo
rules the heart, spinal cord, liver metabolism, spleen, pulmonary arteries and
aorta, superior and inferior vena cava. Externally, the Lion governs the back
and forearm, while structurally, the twelve dorsal vertebrae.
The diseases of Leo predominately involve the heart, most seriously occlusion of
cardiac arteries by bloodclot or occlusion bringing on a heart attack. Nervous
tension can affect the heart with palpitations and the like. The fire of Leo
tends to fevers, especially heart-related issues such as pericarditis and
rheumatic heart disease and is linked to jaundice and eye problems (Solar
rulership). Leo, though fond of children, is traditionally a barren sign.
Virgo, the Virgin,
is the second sign of the Earth triplicity and the sixth sign of the tropical
zodiac. The planet Mercury, governing our intellect and communicative faculties,
rules Virgo, where tradition also places the house of his exaltation, so Virgins
have a truly intellectual, critical and analytical approach to life.
Communication is important and they love books, magazines, and writing. A
critical eye for detail, combined with a ceaseless pursuit of perfection, endows
Virgo with an irresistible urge to improve everything and everyone (whether they
need it or not!).
The key phrase of Virgo is "I analyse". Virgos adapt to change instinctively and
are responsive to the needs of others. They usually adapt to different people
and changing circumstances by finding ways to make themselves useful. They are
known to be meticulous and in its best form they are efficient and perform
duties very well. Their world is subject to microscopic analysis and they become
engrossed in trivialities leading to worry and ill-health. Virgo bodies reject
artificial medicines and foods. Food in general is harmful to them when upset or
angry.
Normally, Virgo is health conscious and makes an effort to stay physically fit,
becoming a picky eater, if not a food-faddist. Many adapt to routine exercise or
other activities. This sign has a unique resistance to disease once the mind is
disciplined by becoming dispassionate in evaluating the performance of others as
well as themselves. Foolish fears and apprehensions soon lead Virgo into early
invalidism. They are also susceptible to suggestion, especially in health
matters and should choose their doctor carefully.
Virgo Rules the Abdomen
Internally, Virgo rules the abdominal region, large and small intestines,
spleen, solar plexus, lower lobes of the liver, pancreas, portal veins and has
some influence on the generative organs. Externally, it rules the umbilicus,
hands and nails. Structurally, it rules the carpal bones.
Health conscious Virgo makes an effort to stay physically fit and Virgo people
don't mind repetitive exercise routines, if they can see achievable outcomes.
They enjoy tennis, racquetball, swimming, sailing, fishing, and biking, even
though athletically they are not overly competitive. It's just that they always
seek to perfect whatever skills they may have, primarily for the sake of doing a
thing well. Talented in various crafts, dressmaking and designing, Virgo may
also take a particular interest in such things as cartography, travel, and
philately.
Virgo rules the sinuses, respiratory system and bowels. Colds, flu, allergies,
problems with intestines and constipation are common Virgoan complaints. Black
moods and despondency from time to time can adversely affect others in the
vicinity. Traditionally, Virgo is a barren sign.
Libra, the Scales,
is the second sign of the Air triplicity and the seventh sign of the tropical
zodiac. This artistic and tasteful sign is ruled by Venus and is the exaltation
of Saturn. The key phrase for Libra is "I balance". As a cardinal sign, Libra is
creative and enjoys initiating new ideas.
True Librans are intellectuals, actively seeking knowledge and mental
stimulation. They tend to be hard workers, especially after the age of thirty.
Being focused on relationships, they have a strong sense of fair play and equity
and make good counsellors and diplomats.
Librans are good negotiators and are apt to become disturbed when they find
themselves around dissension they cannot control. Emotional, physical, and
psychological pleasure comes from beauty in all its forms. Books, music,
flowers, and perfume are typical delights. If the environment is less than
pleasing, Librans can become unhappy without even realizing that the
surroundings may be responsible for the despondency.
Social grace begins with good manners, extends to high level diplomacy, and ends
with abhorrence of disagreeable confrontations. Libra promotes peace and
harmony, and usually opts to bypass hostile confrontations whenever some other
method can be employed.
Some Librans avoid physical activity and are addicted to luxuries and creature
comforts. They also tend to be fond of rich and sugary foods, which may result
in adrenal fatigue and hypoglycaemia.
Libra Rules the Kidneys
Each sign rules structural, external and internal relationships. Libra rules the
excretory functions through the kidneys and skin. Externally it rules the lumbar
region, buttocks, adrenals and vasomotor system. Structurally, the sign rules
the lumbar vertebrae. The pathological tendencies of this sign are lumbago,
kidney disease, uraemia, polyuria, renal calculi and oedema.
Libra rules the kidneys, lower back and ovaries. Lower back pain, and problems
caused by too much sugar or rich food are common complaints.
Librans are also subject to interminable hovering between alternatives, or
inability to make firm decisions, especially under pressure, when they can be
pushed by others into taking steps they may later regret.
Scorpio, the
Scorpion, is the second sign of the Water triplicity and the eighth sign of the
tropical zodiac. This powerful, but secretive sign is ruled by Mars (action;
passion) and Pluto (obstruction; transformation; regeneration). The key phrase
for Scorpio is "I desire".
Symbols for Scorpio are the scorpion, a ground-dwelling killer with a poisonous
sting in its tail and the eagle, a far-seeing predator soaring above petty
problems into the spiritual sky. Scorpio's real involvement is not primarily
based on love or even pleasure, but on the control and understanding of human
emotions and the role they play in the mysterious processes of life and death.
Though Scorpio natives may not spend their lives pondering the mysteries of life
and death, they are inquisitive and probing, fascinated with how things and
people work. Mental and physical powers of recuperation are remarkable - and
truly evolved (eagle) Scorpios can learn to use their power to help and inspire
others.
Scorpio characteristically seeks to uncover the truth or to transform raw
materials into things of great power and beauty. Relationships are not exempt
from this probing, so anyone involved with the Scorpio type must prepare for
profound changes in themselves, their mysterious partner and the relationship
itself.
Scorpio Rules the Secret Parts
Each sign has an external, internal and structural rulership. Externally,
Scorpio rules the nose and nasal bones, the pubic area and genital organs.
Internally, it rules the gonads, haemoglobin, bladder, prostate, descending
colon, sigmoid flexure and rectum. It has influence over the vocal cords and
larynx. Structurally it rules the pubic bones, os sacrum, coccyx and nasal
bones. This sign also influences the thymus and thyroid glands, liver, uterus,
menstruation, sweat glands and the endocrine glands in general.
Scorpio rules the reproductive organs and excretory system, so those with
Scorpio active in their charts suffer headaches, infections and fevers, along
with various illnesses to do with what used to be called the secret parts.
Scorpio people have, however, a strong constitution and can usually overcome
their problems, many of which are of their own making, due to their clandestine
activities.
Sagittarius, the
Archer, is the third sign of the Fire triplicity and the ninth sign of the
tropical zodiac. This freedom-loving sign is ruled by Jupiter, Lord of Fortune
and Expansion. The key phrase for Sagittarius is "I see".
The symbols for Sagittarius are the hunter (archer) and the centaur, a mythical
half-man, half-horse. These signify the search for truth and knowledge, as well
as the constant pursuit of adventure and new ideas. Intellectual curiosity
covers a wide range of subjects, but Sagittarius does get bored and restless
when surrounded by dull people or circumstances.
Sagittarians would rather learn on their own, through travel and experience,
than endure structured classroom environments and routine work assignments.
However, having broadened their knowledge and gained experience in the world on
their own, they could become excellent teachers or administrators in the very
educational system they once found so restricting.
Frank Sagittarius does not hesitate to give an honest opinion, which can seem
tactless at times - although it is rarely the intention to be cruel. Sagittarian
people have a ready wit and appreciate the humour in even the grimmest of
situations.
Sagittarius Rules the Hips
Each sign has internal, external and structural rulerships. Externally,
Sagittarius rules the region around the hips, gluteal muscles, thighs and has
considerable influence over the muscles in general. Internally, it has rulership
of the sciatic nerve, iliac arteries and veins and considerable influence on the
liver, lungs and motor nerves. Structurally, it rules the four coccygeal
vertebrae, sacral bones and femur.
The diseases of Sagittarius particularly involve the hips and thighs. Injury to
these areas is common, especially if horse-riding is involved. The pain of
sciatica has long been associated with this sign.
The expansive, pleasure loving influence of Jupiter inclines to the excessive
consumption of rich food and drink, sometimes leading to arthritic pains in the
hips. Since Sagittarius is a fire sign, the tendency to feverish complaints is
also marked.
Capricorn, the Sea Goat, is the third sign of the Earth triplicity
and the tenth sign of the tropical zodiac. This loyal, but ambitious sign is
ruled by Saturn (structure; karma) and is the exaltation of Mars (action;
passion). The key phrase for Capricorn is "I use".
Saturn, considered the great malefic, harbinger of stasis and disease and also
the planet of structure and reality, is the ruler of Capricorn. This is the sign
of personal independence and the struggle for economic security.
Capricorn people have a knowledge of practical affairs; prudent habits teach
them to utilize everything they see and hear. They are adept at finding
solutions and are neat and methodical in their work. They like their money and
have frugal instincts.
Capricorns often look older or more mature when they are young and are prone to
be weak when young. However, when they reach middle age, the reverse occurs.
They seem to defy the aging process and retain a remarkably youthful appearance
well into old age. Good dietary habits, if learned in their youth, tend to stay
with them as adults. Their innate spirit of competition makes them enthusiastic
in business and great sporting competitors.
Capricorn Rules the Knees
Each sign has internal, external and structural rulerships. Externally,
Capricorn rules the joints (especially the knees), hair, teeth and skin;
internally, the mucous membranes, the peripheral nerves and portions of the
stomach. Structurally, it rules the skeleton, bones and patella.
The Sun is weak in this sign, but Capricorn does tend towards longevity unless
afflicted by the Moon or Saturn. Many diseases result from business anxieties.
The accidents from this sign are broken bones, sprains, dislocations and hurts
from the knees and below. Sensitive skin, allergies, and broken bones are
problems, while worrying too much can also result in physical disorders.
Capricorn suffers from insecurity and anxiety in youth, but blossoms under
Saturn in the later years.
Capricorn people do not readily yield to disease, but once sick they hold onto
the symptoms and can become hypochondriacs. Worry and anguish can also result in
health problems like heart attacks if they are not careful to relieve their
stress with proper exercise. The pathological tendencies are crystallization,
dryness and constriction. Routine massage and foot reflexology can be of
considerable benefit.
Aquarius, the
Water-Bearer, is the third sign of the Air triplicity and the eleventh sign of
the tropical zodiac. This intellectual and unorthodox sign is ruled by Saturn
(structure; karma) and Uranus (sudden changes; unexpected upheavals). The key
phrase for Aquarius is "I know".
Saturn, considered the great malefic, harbinger of stasis and disease and also
the planet of structure and reality, is the traditional ruler of Aquarius. This
is the sign of deep intellect and the struggle for freedom from restriction.
Aquarius is often emotionally detached.
The new-age ruler of Aquarius is Uranus, planet of eccentrics and the
unorthodox. Aquarians express Uranian qualities by being unpredictable,
determined and stubborn. Aquarians consequently favour the unique, as well as
the traditional. They often adopt lifestyles and ideas that run counter to
current trends.
Aquarians are somewhat prone to immersing themselves in unorthodox fields of
study and can make significant discoveries off the beaten track. Astrology could
become a passionate concern, as may other investigations of the limits of
consciousness and human abilities. A lover of science and originality, Aquarius
treasures the unique while immersing itself in the traditional.
Aquarian people readily adopt life styles and ideas that run counter to the
mainstream and they try to visualize any situation objectively, as a kind of
mental exercise. In relationships, their intellectual approach makes them seem
interested, but not particularly passionate or possessive. Of course they do not
really lack passion, for when they focus their feelings, their passion is as
intense as it is inspirational.
The appearance of calmness is deceptive, as they are often nervous and
apprehensive. Women of this sign often exaggerate their problems to the point of
getting ill.
Aquarius Rules the Ankles
Each sign has an external, internal and structural rulership. Externally this
sign rules the calves, tibia and ankles. Internally, Sun in Aquarius rules the
circulation, breath and eyesight; structurally, the bones of the lower limbs. It
is closely associated with the blood and circulation, with a tendency toward
impure blood.
The pathological action of Aquarius is towards nervousness, gloom and
sensitivity leading to habits and fixed ideas that make disease persist and
linger. Aquarians are prone to varicose veins, hypertension and heart problems.
Aquarius rules shins, ankles, and the circulatory system, while cramps,
allergies, sudden illness and freak accidents are common for those with Aquarius
active in their charts. They may also suffer from various nervous disorders.
Pisces, the Fishes,
is the third sign of the Water triplicity and the twelfth sign of the tropical
zodiac. This deeply sensitive and charming sign is ruled by Jupiter (expansion;
fortune) and Neptune (delusion; deception; illumination). The key phrase for
Pisces is "I believe".
Jupiter, considered the great benefic, is the traditional ruler of Aquarius.
This is the sign of expanded emotions, sensitivity and natural dumb luck.
The new-age ruler of Pisces is
Neptune,
planet of the mysterious, illusory, spiritual and sensitive aspects in man.
Piscean people are apt to be idealistic, sensitive and responsive to the
thoughts and feelings of others. Their temperament varies from being strongly
optimistic to acutely pessimistic. They are generally not ambitious for material
gain, preferring human interactions. Their charm, humour and sympathy is what
opens the gates of opportunities. Their dramatic abilities lead them to develop
art, music or poetry.
Shy Pisceans would much rather impersonate someone else than be themselves. No
wonder so many of them are actors, artists, writers, and dreamers. Elusive
Neptune makes it hard to predict how they will develop. Some of them are neat
and well organized, while others become slovenly and careless - largely a
reflection of their emotional reactions to the environment. Their intense
imagination can lead them to stretch the truth under many circumstances (the
other side to their creative abilities), write fantastic novels, poetry and
produce other artistic endeavours.
Confronting a sense of personal vulnerability, Pisces can be a daredevil and
risk-taker. The thrills of car racing, piloting a plane, exploring the
wilderness, or hunting game can be seductive. Pisces can be a compulsive eater.
Sports and physical fitness routines are a good way to keep in shape and reduce
emotional stress. Horseback riding, dancing, skating, swimming or sailing are
favoured activities.
Pisces Rules the Feet
Each sign has internal, external and structural rulerships. Internally, Pisces
rules the lymphatic system, synovial fluids and functions of the glands in
general. Externally, it rules the feet and toes and structurally the bones of
the feet.
Swelling, allergic reaction to drugs, injuries to the feet and related problems
are common complaints, but the Piscean emotional nature can also make them
vulnerable to psychosomatic illness. The susceptibility of the Piscean nature to
drugs and alcohol as a way of dealing with the pressures of the world needs to
be addressed in a sensitive and realistic way.
Astrology and Health
Scorpio, the
Scorpion, is the second sign of the Water triplicity and the eighth sign of the
tropical zodiac. This powerful, but secretive sign is ruled by Mars (action;
passion) and Pluto (obstruction; transformation; regeneration).
This loyal, but ambitious sign is
ruled by Saturn (structure; karma) and is the exaltation of Mars (action;
Externally,
Capricorn rules the joints (especially the knees), hair, teeth and skin;
internally, the mucous membranes, the peripheral nerves and portions of the
Pisces, the Fishes,
is the third sign of the Water triplicity and the twelfth sign of the tropical
zodiac. This deeply sensitive and charming sign is ruled by Jupiter (expansion;
fortune) and Neptune (delusion; deception; illumination).
