In the past you might have associated the word
"beauty" more with glamour, cosmetics and make-up, high
fashion, beauty salons, "beauty contests"
for many
people it evoked images of film stars, models, luxury, and self-indulgence.
Today the world of beauty care, or personal care, is changing and
maturing, with an increasing emphasis on health and fitness, on
total well-being, on bringing out the best . . . the "natural
beauty" in all of us.
In a world where most of us have career aspirations, where we live
and work longer, the importance of personal care and presentation
is widely recognized, especially in a more competitive environment.
Our self-confidence is shaped by our self-image ... if we look better,
we feel better.
From ancient times until now, the care of the physical body has
been an essential part of attaining health and well-being. We have
heard stories of Cleopatra bathing in baths of milk and honey. And
no doubt the nobility has always "indulged" itself with
an abundance of treatments designed to enhance their physical appearance
and emotional well-being.
Natural treatments for the skin and body are much more "traditional"
than anything that "traditional medicine" can invent.
Chemical potions have a very recent history as opposed to the herbal
remedies that have come down to us through the ages. Herbal steam
facials have long been a way to rejuvenate tired skin, herbal salves
have "always" been available to soothe calloused or damaged
skin, and using aroma for healing is also not a new phenomenon.
Therapeutic Massage is also not a new modality, but was used long
before the term "therapeutic massage" was invented...
from a woman rubbing her tired mate's shoulders (or vice versa)
to a courtesan offering soothing relaxing massage. Bodywork has
been around for eons and can be used for relaxation as well as for
healing of physical and emotional wounds.
We live in stressful times... The speed of our life, the pollutants
in the air, the noise of our environment, the over-abundance of
things to do... For most of us, these are part of our daily life.
We need to make the time to "take care of ourselves" by
providing our body with care and relaxation.
Body treatments are designed to detoxify and improve skin tone whilst
nourishing the body. These treatments soothe and relax tired muscles
and nerves and are tailored to meet your individual needs.
