Baba Nahar Singh Temple (mandir)
Baba Nahar Singh Temple (mandir) is located at Dholra, which falls beneath the
Bilaspur district. Baba Nahar Singh is believed to be an incarnation of God and
can be recognized by the names of Bajia, Peepal Wala amd Dalian Wala. It is
mentioned that the Baba was the patron deity of Naggar, the erstwhile capital of
the state of Kullu. When Raja Deep Chand of Bilaspur married Naggar Dei, the
princess of Kullu, the idol of Baba Nahar Singh accompanied her to the brand new
state.
After sometime, the queen fell sick and continued to suffer from spells of
unconsciousness. Ultimately, it was realized that this was happening as a result
of idol was not installed in the state with all non secular rituals. Thus, Raja
Deep Chand built Baba Nahar Singh Temple (mandir) at Dholra and placed His 'Kharaun'
(picket slippers) in the temple (mandir), as His symbol. Gala's are organized
here every Tuesday, in the Hindu month of Jeth, within the honor of the deity.
