Guruvayoor Temple (Mandir)
Guruvayoor Temple (Mandir) of Thrissur is a vital and well-known pilgrimage. The
temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who's worshipped as Lord Krishna, an avatar
of Lord Vishnu. The town the place this temple is situated is thought by the
name of Thrissur Guruvayoor. The temple (Mandir) of Guruvayur in Trichur, Kerala
is value a go to and only a mere sight of the Lord's idol in its grandeur is
sufficient to make you're feeling pure and blessed. The temple follows a strict
decorum and solely Hindus are allowed inside. The temple (Mandir) is said to
have been built by Guru (preceptor of Gods) and Vayu (God of winds). The idol is
constructed out of a uncommon stone known as Patala Anjana.
The idol of Lord Vishnu is proven having 4 arms, carrying a conch, a discus (Sudharshana
Chakra), a mace and a lotus and is decked with a Tulasi (basil leaves) and rose
garlands and pearl necklaces. The partitions of the main temple shrine are
embellished with splendid work that depict tales from the lifetime of Lord
Krishna. There are many paintings that belong to the seventeenth century that
adorn the sacred partitions here. The roof and two doors inside the temple (Mandir)
are covered with gold. Within the jap side in entrance of the temple (Mandir)
entrance stands a tall Dhwajasthambam (flag put up), which measures 33 meters
and is completely gold plated. Proper adjacent to it, one can discover a 7-meter
excessive pillar of lamps often known as the Dipastambham. This magnificent
pillar of lamps has 13 round receptacles on prime of each other that look good
when lit in the evening. Apart from the principle idol of Lord Vishnu, one may
discover idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Ayyappa and Goddess Durga. The temple holds
