An organic mental disorder characterized by tremor
of the hands, eyelids, and tongue, nausea, weakness, sweating, depressed mood,
anxiety, and irritability. It follows, usually within a few hours, cessation of
alcohol intake in an individual who has been drinking for several days or
longer.
