A climax community in a broad geographical area
having one type of climate. Examples of biomes are the Taiga, coniferous forests
of Canada; the Desert, regions where the annual rainfall is less than 6.5
centimeters; the Grasslands, annual rainfall is low and irregular; the Tropical
Rain Forest, characterized by high temperatures and constant rainfall; and the
Marine biome, the sea.
