Post Pregnancy Body- Getting your body back
For the past nine months your body has been an
incubator that has nurtured and grown as your baby grew inside of you. Now you
have your body back, you will be wanting to get it back into the shape that it
was in before.
The first few weeks post pregnancy are going to be uncomfortable. You are going
to be sore, dripping, swollen and more than likely covered by
stretch marks. The time it is
going to take to return to your old pre pregnancy body is going to depend on a
few different factors, such as age, number of previous pregnancies, how often
she exercises, etc. etc.
You will need to ease back into your old routine at first. You will still need
to rest frequently and try and stay off your feet as much as possible. This will
also give you a great deal of time to spend with your new baby, as well as
letting your body recover from the past nine months and the actual delivery.
Once you start to feel steady, then
start exercising. Many gyms
nowadays have a child care center, where you can leave your baby while you
exercise. Another great form of exercise that you and your baby can do is
walking or running with your baby in a
stroller.
