Granth Sahib
Guru Granth Sahib
is a Sikh scripture revered by Sikh and non-Sikh Hindus. It consists of 29480
rhymes and verses. The word “Granth” is a Sanskrit word, meaning holy book.
This Granth was completed by Guru Arjun Dev and installed in Har mandir at
Amritsar (Punjab, India) in 1604. Nearly half of the writings of this Granth are
Guru Arjun Dev’s and the rest are the works of Guru Nanak, Guru Angad, Guru
Amardas, Guru Ramdas, Jaidev, Namdev, Bhagat Tanna, Sant Tulasidas, Sant Soordas,
Sant Ravidas, and many others.
Shree Guru Grant Sahib inspirations
are from the Vedas and the Upanishads and written in simple hymns. It is a
treasure of divine knowledge.
