Sindhu
The river Sindhu is considered to be very sacred. It is also
known by the name Indus. It is famous for its historical and geographical
Importance. The origin of the Sindhu river is at the Lake Manasarovar in Tibet.
The origin is at a height of 5182m. It flows through the north western part and
joins with river Dhar. The five rivers Jhelum, Chinab, Rawi, Vyas & Sutluj joins
with the river Sindhu near Pathankot.
Then it starts flowing through the southern part for about
810 kms and enters the Karanchi town. The delta of Sindhu is formed and divided
into so many branches. Sindhu river is not only famous for its geographical
nature but also for historical. The famous Mohanjodaro & Harrappa Civilisation
present on the bank of river Sindhu.
The total length of the Sindhu river is 2900 kms out of
which 1610 kms lies in Pakistan. The two famous dams across the rivers are,
